Rouse adds clinical Allott to attacking ranks

We are delighted to confirm the capture of experienced striker Gavin Allott. The proven goal scorer has scored goals at whichever side he has played for, which includes Liversedge where he scored 14 league goals as they won their Northern Premier League East Division.

‘Gav’ has also featured for Boston United, Gainsborough Trinity, Shaw Lane, Frickley Athletic and Worksop Town. The big centre forward will certainly add fire power as well as his experience at this level of football.

We look forward to seeing him in The Colls shirt very soon!

We caught up with Gavin to discuss the signing and here is what he had to say;

Welcome to The Colls, what was it that attracted you about joining the club?

It was mainly down to working with Craig (Rouse) again and I also know a fair few of the lads already, from having had a season with them at Worksop Town.

You enjoyed a successful season last year with 14 league goals, is that something you’d look to achieve and beat again this season?

Yes, I would of liked to have got more league goals last season but I only played 23 times in the league as we had a competitive team at Liversedge. This season I will aim for at least 20 goals in all competitions which is a target I set myself every season.

As well as being a clinical goalscorer, how would you describe yourself as a forward?

I like to work hard for the team and link up with the players, but I also do chip in with assists too.

Finally, do you have a message to supporters ahead of this campaign?

I am looking forward to seeing you all in preseason friendlies and then for the league campaign too. Then hopefully we can have a successful season together.
