Pontefract Collieries FC are pleased to confirm that an agreement has been reached with Wakefield AFC for the club to play its home fixtures at The Hunters Stadium, starting later this month.
The arrangement will initially cover the 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons, with an option to extend by mutual consent.
This partnership follows ongoing discussions between both clubs’ leadership teams and reflects a shared commitment to supporting the growth of grassroots and semi-professional football across the region. The move will see Wakefield AFC benefit from The Hunters Stadium’s newly installed 3G playing surface, modern facilities, and strong transport links—while allowing both clubs to continue building meaningful community connections through football.
This agreement also reflects the significant progress Pontefract Collieries has made in recent years – both on and off the field! The investment in our facilities, has elevated The Hunters Stadium to a standard where other clubs are now seeking to use our venue.
