The Colls were defeated by a strong Rushall Olympic side, putting an end to the fantastic run. There were no arguments on the day as Rushall were deserved winners.
The lads put in maximum effort but just couldn’t get over this final hurdle. The first 40 minutes we create three fantastic opportunities but their keeper made two cracking saves and the other shot goes wide!! Unfortunately they had one good chance and score. Leaving the lads 1-0 down at half time.
The lads conceded three goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half and were reduced to 9 men (Rushall Olympic also had a player sent off). The lads kept pushing and gave everything they could, we grabbed a couple of goals late on but it was always going to be a tough task.
All that aside this little team have gone above and beyond what was expected for sure in their first season in the JPL. They’ve been crowned North East & Yorkshire Regional champions and made it down to the last four teams in the country.
The lads go again next week as they host Oldham Athletic u15s at home.
