Rouse adds former Millers marksmen to his ranks

We are delighted to confirm the capture of highly rated young forward Jerome Greaves from Guiseley of the Northern Premier League. At 6ft4 the forward will be competing amongst an already strong forward line and will be looking to join in the goals.

Greaves came through the ranks at Rotherham United before going on to sign a professional deal with the Football League outfit. He joined both Matlock Town and Farsley Celtic last season, before joining Guiseley in the summer after a successful trial period. We’d like to thank Danny Ellis and Guiseley and the staff at Guiseley for helping us get this through.

The forward now joins up with Craig Rouse’s men and we caught up with Jerome to discuss his arrival…

Welcome to the Colls Jerome, first of all tell us what excited you about joining the club?

Yes, I’m buzzing to be here. I spoke to the gaffer earlier in the week and made me feel really wanted, which is all you can ask for as a player. He explained the direction that we’re looking to go in as a club and it was a no brainer really, so i’m really excited to get going.

Tell us what type of striker you are and what you’d bring to the group?

Id say i’m more of an old school number 9. Getting hold of the ball and bringing others into play. All strikers will tell you there’s no better feeling than putting the ball in the net, so hopefully i’ll contribute plenty but getting the three points for the team is always the most important.

What are your goals for the season both personally and as a team?

Obviously the goal this year is to get promotion one way or another, they’re the seasons you look back on the most. It’s great to see the ambition of the club and that everyone involved is pulling in the same direction. On a personal note, I want to be scoring as many goals as possible and help the team in any way I can.

Finally, do you have a message to your new fans?

For the fans, i’m just one of you. A local lad, born in pontefract, fortunate enough to play for this club. I’m a massive advocate of interacting with the fans, fans are what makes the sport what it is. I’m really looking forward to pulling on the shirt and representing what the club is about.
