Nash joins Colls | Interview

Yesterday we confirmed our fourth summer signing with the addition of tricky winger Nash Connolly.

Connolly has featured on the opposing side against Pontefract on a number of occasions, whilst turning our for local rivals Ossett United and previously with Hemsworth MW.

Now at Pontefract we caught up with Nash to discuss his move…

Welcome to the club Nash, firstly tell us how pleased you are to be joining The Colls?

Yeah I’m over the moon to be signing for Pontefract. You’ve seen with the quality of signings already made, adding to the lads who are staying the ambition of the club and what we want to achieve this season. I’m buzzing to be a part of it.

You have been on the opposing side when visiting the Hunters Stadium over the years, what’s it going to be like wearing a Colls shirt this time round?

Having played against Ponte in the NCEL Division One, Premier & Northern Premier League I know first hand it’s never an easy place to play as an opposition. It’ll be good to be on the other side of that, helping the lads achieve what we set out to.

Having played at this level over a couple of spells, what will you bring to the squad?

I’m a very direct player, I like to use my pace get at full backs and get balls in the box. I’m a very honest lad so I’ll always give 100% graft to help the boys out.

Finally, what message do you have for your new fans?

I can’t wait to meet the fans and I’ve no doubt we’ll have a successful season with them all being the 12th man and backing the lads home & away! UTC
