Juniors Insight: U8s Yellows Weekly Update

U8 Yellows kicked off their season with an impressive performance at home against Malt Shovel Selby.

From the outset Colls didn’t allow their opponents to have any time on the ball, pressing high and closing down quickly. Josh soon made it 1-0 with his first of the game, hitting a fierce strike past the keeper. With the defence continuing to thwart every attack and Josh full of confidence he soon made it 2-0. Luke made it 3-0 at half time after bursting out of defence with the ball and tucking it away with a neat finish.

It was much the same in the second half and debutant Harley soon made it 4-0. The goals kept coming for Ponte with Seb adding a fifth, which was much-deserved after an outstanding defensive display. Sam had a couple of chances to add to the score line but the ball just wouldn’t fall for him. Henry added another two goals before Josh sealed his hat-trick. Harry caught the defence napping with a quick throw in and Josh was left one-on-one with the keeper and he lashed the ball home. His scoring wasn’t done there, pouncing on a superb through ball from Harry to make it 9-0. He added a tenth, again after Harry found him with a throw-in.

A totally dominant and professional performance from start to finish. Man of the Match could really have gone to any one of them this morning but it was awarded to Joshua after his five goals.
