Pontefract Collieries won their first match of the season after a battling team performance away at Goole Town Tigers.
In an evenly fought contest, that ebbed and flowed, Pontefract showed real character in turning around an early 2-0 deficit to take a 4-2 lead into half-time.
The boys didn’t take their foot off the pedal in the second half, and showed real commitment in defence and class in attack – extending their lead before the end with some great team goals.
The game was played in a good spirits and bodes well for the weeks ahead.
