Jack Greenhough | “Being club captain has been a real honour for me”

We caught up with Club Captain Jack Greenhough to discuss him extending his Colls stay. Here’s what he had to say;

Congratulations on extending your stay with the club, How pleasing is it to have you short term future tied up?

Really glad to have it all sorted early, it was a no brainer for me really as soon as Rousey spoke to me I wanted to sign the extension straight away. Knowing I can focus on the rest of the season then all focus on next year! The whole club is on the up, the amount of fans we have coming to games home and away is great and it just gives us all the extra push in games.

As a hometown lad and club captain, tell us what it means to be remaining at The Colls?

It means a lot to be remaining at the club, there’s a lot of people at the club who are very trustworthy and honest which goes a long way. Being club captain has been a real honour for me, I feel I have grown into the role as the season has gone on. Unfortunately with the way the league season has gone it’s been disappointing, but it was a honour taking the club where we went with the FA Cup run. Now we have a good hardworking side and a close knit group, that’s got better and better over the last few months.

You are currently on 199 club appearances, how special of a moment will it be to reach the 200 Milestone?

Yes it will be a special moment, it’s always good to reach milestones but I don’t really concentrate on them. I didn’t realise I was that close to be honest, I just concentrate on each game as it comes and hopefully it won’t be too long till I’ll be back out there.
