Burns makes switch to bolster defence

The brother of Danny (Burns), Josh Burns joins The Colls from Sheffield FC where he has been on the opposing side in recent years.

The defender adds to Craig Rouse’s defensive options especially with Danny due to have a three match suspension for the coming weeks.

We caught up with our new man to discuss the move;

Josh welcome to The Colls, firstly tell us about joining the club and what excites you most about signing?

Thank you, what excites me about joining Ponte is that its a big chance to be involved in a team that is flying at the minute and will 100% be fighting at the top end of the league. So this is a good opportunity to be involved in a strong team, that will allow me to perform to the best of my ability.

For those fans that may not have seen you play before, how would you describe yourself?

I see my self as a hard working no nonsense centre half who if needed can find a pass into the right areas. However i take pride in my job of keeping clean sheets!

Joining Danny here, have you had many discussions about the club and what has he said that made you want to be apart of it?

The conversations I had with our Danny about the club were positive and helped me to make my decision. He mentioned that The Colls are a brilliant bunch of lads who work hard to bring the best out of each other and the league table at the minute really proves that statement. He said the standards in training and games are always high and I am excited to be a part of that.

Finally having played against Ponte, what are you looking forward to, being in the Ponte blue for the rest of this campaign?

Every time I have played Ponte in the past it has always been a tough hardworking and well fought game. So I am excited to be a part of a team that always goes the extra mile for the three points!
