Pontefract Collieries make the trip to East Yorkshire this weekend as they face North Ferriby at the Versa Sportswear Stadium, with both sides looking to bounce back and build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
Colls arrive following a tough midweek test at Blyth Spartans which ended an impressive unbeaten run stretching back to late November. Jimmy Williams’ side will now be keen to respond quickly and return to the form that has pushed them firmly into the play-off picture in recent months.
Despite that defeat, Ponte remain well placed in the table. The Colls sit 5th in the league, narrowly ahead of Dunston on goals scored, as the race for the play-off places continues to tighten with just ten games remaining.
North Ferriby, meanwhile, sit 10th on 45 points and remain within touching distance of the sides above them. A win this weekend — and favourable results elsewhere — could lift them as high as 7th, keeping their own late push alive.
Ferriby themselves will also be eager to rediscover momentum. Their recent victory was their first since late December, and they’ll be hoping to build on that result on home soil.
Adding further interest to this fixture is the return of Elliott Walker, who rejoined Ponte earlier this week after departing North Ferriby — meaning the midfielder could face his former side just days after making the switch.
With only ten games left in the campaign, every point becomes increasingly valuable. Both sides will know the importance of starting a strong run now as the season heads towards its decisive final weeks.
Kick-off at the Versa Sportswear Stadium is at 3pm.
